Spring Awakening!

Spring has finally arrived! Although there are some very chilly and rainy days, I like to take advantage of the sun as much as I possibly can. This past Saturday we were blessed with a very sunny, yet slightly cold day, but we still decided to make a trip into the city for a little adventure.

After a long morning at work, all I wanted was to fill my belly with some delicious lunch. F and I decided to drive to our favorite shawarma joint, Mamoun's. If you're a true New Yorker, you know about Mamoun's. It's a little hole in the place on MacDougal St and on St. Marks and they whip up the yummiest shawarmas. F ordered a lamb shawarma, his favorite, and I ordered a veggie combo shawarma with chicken kabobs and falafel. Such a satisfying meal, not only for my belly but also the wallet!

Talk about a finger-licking good
If you know me, you know I am a huge foodie and dessert is my weakness. I couldn't just leave the city without stopping by my favorite little dessert spot. If you guys love rice pudding like me, you'll love Rice to Riches on Spring St. They serve rice pudding in a variety of different flavors. It's rice pudding on crack and I am addicted! (Not really! Crack is whack! Stay in school kids!) This was the perfect choice because F and I both love rice pudding and I have been meaning to take him to this place for a very long time. Since it was so difficult to find parking, F decided to stay in the car while I picked up our dessert. I decided to go for the "Epic" size which allows you to choose two flavors. Since I love chocolate and rice pudding, Hazelnut Chocolate Bear Hug was the perfect choice for me and F was given The corner of Cookies n' Cream. F loved the chocolate one more so much, surprising because he loves cookies and cream. You guys really need to check this place out.

Enough food talk, I'm making myself hungry! Lets talk about what I wore on my city adventure! I, like every other girl in this world, have always wanted a guy who can dress well. Thankfully, I was lucky enough to find him. Only problem is, I have to dress just as nice to keep up with him! Damn you, F! Whenever we hang out, I try to look my best and on this day, I decided to go for a comfortable chic look. I was loving the cape trend this past winter so I decided to bring it back for the spring. I paired my cape with faux leather leggings and a pair of pink pumps for a soft edgy look.

L'Oreal Color Riche Lipsticks Review

Hi loves! I'm finally blogging again! Today's post is all about the new L'Oreal Color Riche Lipsticks. There are two categories of these lipsticks, Le Matte and Le Laque. As you can probably already guess, Le Matte is the matte one and Le Laque is the glossy one. I only picked up three colors, one from matte and two from gloss, because those were the only ones available at my local drugstore. I picked them up from Bed, Bath & Beyond and I haven't seen them at any other drugstore yet! I want more; especially from the matte collection!

Let's start with the only matte one I bought and it is called "No Matte-r What." I really had high hopes for this one and I was very disappointed. I was expecting it to be the perfect nude for us tanned skin girls. However, this one had a brown undertone and really doesn't look flattering. It also goes on very patchy and does not feel matte at all. They only positive for me is that it is not drying. I guess I have to try out a couple more from the matte collection before I completely start hating on them. Here is a swatch on my lips:-
Sorry for the blurriness!

The next two are from the Le Laque collection and I have to say that these are my favorites! These are immensely pigmented and glossy. Unlike the matte formula, these are not patchy at all. The only downsides for me are that they are a little sticky, they do feel heavy on my lips and they transfer. I personally don't like wearing bright lipsticks unless they are matte because they kiss off. That might be the only reason I won't reach for them very often.

The first swatch is of the pink lipstick called "Laquer-ized." This color is a glossy version of MACs Candy Yum Yum. It is a neon pink with purple undertones. This was the most difficult to photograph because it looked more purple than pink but I did my best!

The last color is probably my new favorite red and it's called "Laque-onic." The formula is not only amazing but the color is so very flattering. It usually takes me some time to get used to red but as soon as I applied this one, I felt beautiful. It is a blue based red so not only does it make your teeth look white, it also makes your skin looks brighter. I am absolutely in love!
